The project involves environmentally conscious construction and installation of a prefabricated steel truss bridge over San Leandro Creek, which was damaged by a fallen tree. The work includes all appurtenant work for a ready-for-use condition, as detailed in the plans and specifications. It includes replacement of the pedestrian bridge, ADA improvements to existing sidewalks, formalization of a concrete walkway, and re-establishment of street lighting. Key activities include demolition, excavation, concrete work (piling, structural, curbs, sidewalks, driveways, curb ramps), asphalt paving, traffic control, utility coordination, clearing and grubbing, fence and barrier rail removal, rock blanket installation, detectable warning surface installation, painting, steel fabrication, bridge erection, and miscellaneous metal work.
The prime contractor is actively soliciting bids from certified DBE subcontractors for this project. Bidders must submit evidence of their DBE certification.
