Scope of Work
The project is located in the City of Placerville along
Placerville Drive from the Fairgrounds Interchange at US Highway 50 to Armory Drive. The primary goal
of the project is to address the immediate need for pedestrian connectivity and safety improvements by
closing a large gap in the sidewalk network on Placerville Drive between key origins and destinations. The
work to be done is shown on the Plans, and generally consists of, but is not limited to:
From the Fairgrounds Interchange/Helmrich Lane to the County Fairgrounds crosswalk, the
project will construct curb, gutter, and sidewalk on the west side of Placerville Drive and narrow
the vehicular lanes to calm traffic.
From the County Fairgrounds crosswalk to Armory Drive, the project will construct curb, gutter,
and sidewalk on the east side of Placerville Drive and narrow the vehicular lanes to calm traffic.
At the County Fairgrounds crosswalk, the project will install a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon
(RRFB) to provide a safer midblock crosswalk for pedestrians.
